Milano in mostra: una gita fuori porta

E' stato un vero dispiacere scoprire arrivando in via Alemagna 6 nel cuore di Parco Sempione a Milano che la Triennale di Milano era stata temporaneamente chiusa.

Con ugual piacere mi è stato riferito che è da poco riaperta sezione di Design, a cui tanto ero interessata, si è rinnovata e ha già spalancato le sue porte a curiosi, professionisti e orde di studenti in visita scolastica. La tematica principale di questa VII edizione è l'autosufficienza produttiva. Le epoche in cui viene declinato questo concetto sono quelle delle principali crisi economiche che hanno colpito il mondo nell'ultimo secolo. 

Lo spunto che essa ci fornisce è attuale più che mai e di grande ispirazione: la crisi non come periodo di depressione ma di pulsione verso la creatività e le nuove idee, fonte di miglioramento. La regressione come fonte di progresso. 

Aperta dal martedì alla domenica dalle 10.30 alle 20.30 e il giovedì fino alle 23 con un biglietto che va dai 5.5 agli 8 euro la Triennale si prospetta un' ottima gita fuori porta. Il museo è attorniato inoltre da uno splendido parco che in giornate di sole non può che essere sfruttato per un pic-nic e da non sottovalutare anche le mostre temporanee gratuite, purtroppo spesso saltate a piè pari dai passanti. It has been a real disappointment to discover coming to via Alemagna 6 in the heart of Parco Sempione that the Triennale di Milano was temporarily closed. 

With equal pleasure I was told that recently the Design section, about which I was very interested, was reopened, has been renewed and has already opened its doors to the inquiring, professionals and hordes of students outing with their schools. The main theme of this 7th edition is self-sufficient production. The ages in which this concept is declined are those of the major economic crisis that hit the world during the last century. 

The idea that it supplies is more current than ever, and of great inspiration: the crisis not as a period of depression but as an impulse towards creativity and new ideas, a source of improvement. The regression as a source of progress. 

Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30 to 20.30 and on Thursdays until 23 with  tickets ranging from 5.5 to 8 euros, the Triennale promises a 'good day out. The museum is surrounded by a beautiful park that in sunny days can't be not used for picnic. Not to underrate free temporary exhibitions, unfortunately often passed over by passers. S.

Different kind of princesses

Spesso mi capita di riflettere sul tipo di madre che vorrei essere e durante queste riflessioni son perfino arrivata a pensare a quali storie, miti o favole raccontare ai miei bambini. Una cosa è certa, al bando principesse perfette e cavalieri senza macchia! La realtà è ben diversa, e spesso i messaggi propinati dalle classiche fiabe, vedi Cenerentola, Biancaneve &co, non hanno nulla a che vedere con la natura imperfetta dell'essere umano. Un bambino queste cose non le sa, ma inconsciamente assorbirà questi messaggi. Io qui mi limito a parlare di favole, ma l'elenco di media che trasmettono canoni irreali è pressoché infinito. 

Tornando a noi.. Ai miei figli racconterei storie di eroi, esploratori, di donne forti e indipendenti è così via!! Certo, la fantasia non guasta.. I miti ellenici sono storie totalmente impregnate di fantasia, ma il messaggio che trasmettono combacia perfettamente con la realtà. 

Si potrebbe pensare che un mito greco sia poco adatto ad un bambino, ma non sono d'accordo. Credo che i bambini non vadano tenuti all'oscuro di ciò che avviene realmente nel mondo, va solo trovato il modo giusto per raccontarglielo.

Navigando per la rete mi sono imbattuta in Rejected Princesses, una pagina in cui un grafico ha deciso di far vivere tutte quelle principesse che sono " troppo favolose, orribili, eccentriche" per essere approvate dalla corrente mainstream. Ho trovato quest'idea fantastica e perfettamente in linea con il mio pensiero.

Principesse guerriere, donne subdole e cattive, ma anche donzelle dalla bontà infinita rovinate dalla crudeltà del nostro mondo.

I often think about what kind of mother I want to be, sometimes during this consideration I even thought about what stories, myths or fairy tale tell to my children.

Something is certain, banish perfect princesses and impeccable knights! Reality is quite different, and often the teaching served by the classic fairy tales, such as Cinderella, Snow White &Co, have nothing to do with the imperfect nature of human beings. A child doesn't care about such things, but unconsciously absorb these messages. Here I limit myself to talk about fairy tales, but the list of media that broadcast ureal standards is almost endless.

Back to our issue... I would tell to my children stories of heroes and explorers, of strong, independent women and so on! Of course a bit of fantasy doesn't hurt... Greek myths are totally permeated with fancy, but the teachings they convey fits perfectly with reality.

Well, you might think that a greek myths is not suited to a child, but I do not agree. I think that childrent shouldn't be kept unaware of what really happens in the world, it only should be found the right way to tell them.

While surfing on the Net I cane across Rejected Princesses, a page in which a graphic designer brings to life all those princesses who are " too awesome, awful or offbeat" to be approved by the mainstream current. I found this idea fantastic and perfectly in line with my thinking.

Warrior princesses, devious and evil women, but also endlessly kind maidens ruined by the cruelty of our world.

Fondation Louis Vuitton for contemporary art

Oggi si parla di arte contemporanea. Quella che fa scaturire continui interrogativi, tra gli amanti della tradizione e specialmente tra chi di arte poco si intende. Perchè attribuire tanto valore a opere per le quali pare non esser necessario un particolare talento? Perchè spendere tanto denaro per una tela tagliata, per degli schizzi di colore su una tavola bianca o per oggetti della quotidianità posti su un piedistallo?

A queste domande qualcuno ha risposto "l'arte è l'unico segno del nostro passaggio sulla terra". Impossibile ribattere. E in un periodo di crisi economica come quello che stiamo vivendo, c'è il rischio che tra tutti i pensieri e i costi che i vari paesi devono sostenere, l'arte possa passare in secondo piano. Per fortuna ci sono enti privati che ancora investono nella cultura, e questo è il caso della nascita della Fondation Louis Vuitton che il prossimo ottobre aprirà i battenti a Parigi. Si tratta di una struttura che ospiterà opere d'arte contemporanea francesi e internazionali. Ci saranno mostre temporanee accanto a una collezione permanente. La sede si trova nella zona di Bois de Boulogne a Parigi, nei Jardin d'Acclimatation, dove è stata realizzata una struttura in vetro, dal lavoro di Frank O. Gehry. Il suo progetto architettonico verrà presentato proprio in occasione dell'inaugurazione che avverrà il 20 ottobre 2014. L'idea è nata da Bernard Arnault nel 2006, e lo scopo è quello di favorire e promuovere la creazione artistica su scala internazionale. La fondazione sarà anche luogo di riflessione e dibattito, e ospiterà convegni ed eventi, diventando un punto di riferimento per gli appassionati e creando un punto d'incontro tra artisti e pubblico. Non ci resta che aggiungerlo alla lista di cose da vedere a Parigi! M.

Today's post is about contemporary art. What makes arise constant questions, among lovers of tradition and especially among those who aren't expert about art. Why is given so much value to works for which it seems to be not required a special talent? Why is spent so much money on a cut canvas, on spatted colour on a white board or on ordinary objects put on a pedestal? Someone has answered that "Art is the only sign of our passage on earth.". It's impossible to reply. And nowaday, in a period of economic crisis, there's the risk that among all the thoughts and costs the countries have to deal with, art could loose priority. Luckily there are private institutions that still invest in culture, and this is the case of the birth of the Fondation Louis Vuitton which will open its doors next October in Paris. It is a structure that will host works of French and international contemporary art. There are going to be temporary exhibitions and a permanent collection. The headquarter is in Bois de Boulogne in Paris, in the Jardin d'Acclimatation, where a glass structure was built by the work of Frank O. Gehry. Its architectural design is going to be presented in occasion of the inauguration in October 20, 2014. The idea was conceived in 2006 by Bernard Arnault, and the purpose is to encourage and promote artistic creation on an international scale. The foundation will also be a place of reflection and debate, and will host conferences and events, becoming a reference point for lovers of art and creating a meeting point between artists and audience. We just have to add it to the list of things to see in Paris! M.

Vedo non vedo

Una moda fatta di trasparenze, vestiti fluttuanti e pizzi quella del "vedo non vedo", si ripropone in una veste nuova. Blocchi di tessuti coprenti si accostano ad altri impercettibili agli occhi che ci fan parere i primi sospesi nel vuoto.

Interessante, malizioso e vivace questo spirito un po' birichino ci propone una versione moderna, quasi futuristica, minimal e geometrica.

I capi che sfruttano questo stile sono tra i più svariati. Abbondano gonne, vestitini e bluse. A voi la scelta. 

Ciò che non c'è è solo da immaginare.

Color your life!

Dopo qualche settimana di assenza torno a scrivere per À Trois... È stato un periodo pieno di novità e cambiamenti, in cui spesso mi sono sentita spaesata e sola. Nel buoi però ho trovato qualcosa, qualcosa che non avrei mai pensato potesse aiutarmi... Il colore!

Colore che ha il potere di cambiare umori, che dà gioia e se la riprende, che rasserena e scurisce.. Colore potente, quasi più dei sentimenti!

Un pennello, dell'acrilico e un vecchio mobile mi hanno permesso di ritrovare la calma nel mezzo del mare in tempesta in cui mi trovo... Per tre lunghi giorni mi sono concentrata sul rimodernare uno scrittoio antico per dargli una nuova vita.. Una volta completata l'opera mi sono sentita serena, come se avessi creato qualcosa, come se tra le pennellate si fosse riversato il mio dolore.. Dolore che ha reso quel mobile speciale!

Questo articolo è diverso dagli altri, ma anch'io sono diversa! Fondamentalmente non vi è uno scopo in questo mio scritto e probabilmente a pochi interesserà leggerlo, ma sono felice di aver condiviso questa scoperta, questo nuovo amore per la decorazione!

After a brief absence I returns to write for À Trois ... It was a period full of novelties and changes during which I often found myself confused and alone. However, I found something in this darkness, something that I never thought could help me... It was color! Color has the power to change moods, it gives joy then    reclaims it, it both brightens and darkens.. Color, almost more powerful then feelings!

A brush, acrylic and an old piece of furniture made me regain my calm in the midst of the stormy sea in which I found myself... For three long days I focused on the modernization of an old desk to give it a new life..

Once the work was completed, I felt peaceful, as of I had created something, as if my pain had poured out between the strokes...A pain that made the desk special!

This article is different from the others.. because I'm different! Basically there's no purpose in what I have written and probably only a fes would be interested in reading it, but I'm glad to share my discovery, this new love for garnish!

Pharrell Williams & Galerie Perrotin

Pharrell Williams pare proprio essere la star dell'anno. Con il suo singolo "Happy"  ha conquistato la simpatia di tutti, anche di chi non conosceva la sua musica. Dopo le ultime collaborazioni, i suoi dischi hanno scalato tutte le classifiche fino a dominare con l'ultimo album "GIRL". E' già un successo... Pharrell sta spopolando e non solo come cantante. A proposito di moda, è già un'icona il suo originalissimo cappello, e recentemente ha collaborato con Adidas Originals, decorando un'edizione limitata di Stan Smith.

Ma ciò di cui voglio parlarvi è la sua collaborazione con la Galerie Perrotin alla mostra GIRL che prende nome appunto dal suo disco, esposta a Parigi, nella Salle de Bal dell'hotel d'Ecquevilly ne le Marais. Inaugurata lo scorso 27 maggio, si tratta di arte contemporanea e raccoglie circa quaranta opere di svariati artisti, tra cui: Takashi Murakami con un tributo a Pharrell e sua moglie;

Daniel Arsham con una scultura in vetri rotti; Gregor Hildebrant con un ritratto laser di Marilyn Monroe. Ancora posso nominare Guerrilla Girls, JR, Marina Abramovic, Klara Kristalova, Paola Pivi, Terry Richardson, Andy Warhol, Ghada Amer e Guy Limone. La maggior parte degli espositori sono donne, e una decina delle opere sono state create appositamente per questa mostra. Essa è un omaggio alle donne, con il fine di mostrare ciò che si prova per loro in tutte le possibili sfaccettature, e di osservare la vita dal loro punto di vista. Pharrell Williams seems to be the star of the year. With his  single "Happy" he's got the simpathy of everyone, even those who didn't know his music. After the last collaborations, his records have climbed up to dominate the charts with his latest album "GIRL". It 's already a success ... Pharrell is becoming very popular, and not only as a singer. About fashion, an icon is already his original hat, and recently has worked with Adidas Originals, decorating a limited edition of Stan Smith. But what I want to talk about is his collaboration with Galerie Perrotin, for the exhibition called "GIRL" just as his album, settled in Paris in the Salle de Bal of the  Ecquevilly Hotel in le Malais. Inaugurated on last 27 May, it is about contemporary art with about forty works by various artists, including Takashi Murakami with a tribute to Pharrell and his wife; Daniel Arsham with a sculpture made of broken glass; Gregor Hildebrant with a laser portrait of Marilyn Monroe. Then Guerrilla Girls, JR, Marina Abramovic, Klara Kristalova, Paola Pivi, Terry Richardson, Andy Warhol, Ghada Amer and Guy Limone. Most of the exhibitors are women, and a dozen of the works were created especially for this exhibition. The idea came from an emotion: when Pharrell was showing the first songs of his album to Emmanuel Perrotin, gallery owner and curator of the exhibition; everyone was dancing and enjoying that music, hence they had already realized that a women celebration would have been an incredible success. Forse è una borsa o forse no.
