Today is the International
Women's Day, a festivity that celebrates the emancipation and social
achievements of women. The origin of this feast day goes back to 1909, when
feminist associations all over the United States joined together in order to
obtain the right to vote. Initially this festivity was celebrated in February's
last Sunday, then the celebration passed to 8th March, the starting day of the
Russian Revolution. This day was chosen because a lot of women had taken part
to the riots.
There's another version of
this festivity's story, according to which March 8th was chosen to commemorate
the death of hundreds workers in a cotton factory, but this is not true.
On the occasion of this
celebration today's post will be dedicated to some of the women who have left a
mark in history, who deserve to be remembered and taken as a model by all of
us.
Strong women are
strong and you can see it on their faces. Strong women have suffered. Strong
women do not give in to follow other examples. Strong women are created by
themselves, but they can be destroyed trying to understand why they created
themselves like this. Strong women love difficult solutions, they knows these
are the only ones. Strong women love differently, they love strong. The
stronger women don't know the most, because they are the most.
